Emphasis On Significance Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Emphasis On Significance

Many lessons can not be taught.
From sermons to preach them.
Or from lectures to teach.
Whether behind pulpits or podiums.
With emphasis on the significance.
And regardless of notes taken.
Or heads to nod in agreement.
Approving a performance.
To qualify the act of it well done.

The best lessons to learn,
Are from experiences to live.
Some to repeat again and again.
Until one awakens to realize,
How much easier life can be...
If listening with attempts made,
To comprehend the message.
Had began with this done,
As a priority to commit...
To an understanding providing benefit.

It takes a willingness to learn.
Before foolishly proving,
A stupidity to continue repeating...
Is not required to make known,
What is shown already validated.
And a waste of time to fake,
Something of substance is being exchanged.
To later wish,
A substance missed had been obtained.
Instead of ignorance.
Wanting to dignify its presence to accept.
