It all begins with a thought
And enters into you
Like a gust of wind
And you feel empty

You come out crawling
Out of the gorge as if
You are in hibernation
And have not eaten thousand years

To fill up your void
You start acquiring worldly things
Nothing is left in your way
One by one you take all in

You grow in size
But no filling has been done to your void
Among all sensual and worldly pleasures
More strongly you feel your emptiness

In reality it is a big delusion
That something physical will fill you up
Comfort your soul
And nourish your growth

Before you understand
Something is wrong
You are entrapped in a web
And caught in a whirlwind of sense gratification

You are tossed up
And from that great height
Like a feather you fall
On a bigger inner hollowness
In the way of downward spiral

No change will come in
Until you understand
Matter is for your mind, body and intellect
But feeling of emptiness comes from your spirit

Material things can never fill your emptiness, no matter how many you accumulate. Your soul can fill you to overflowing with it's delicate search through desires and feelings. Writing from your soul you can never be empty. Great write. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for your comment on my poem: Interior Sadness, I appreciate your input very much. RoseAnn

this writing is full of meaning. A soul must be nourished to be made whole. The world cannot provide that. Lovely expressions from the poet.
