Empty Rooms Await Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Empty Rooms Await

The empty rooms await a warm caress,
New walls that hold no echo of the past,
A future built beyond distant distress.

No worn-out sills where sunlight likes to bless,
No garden ghosts where happy hours amassed,
The empty rooms await a warm caress,

Each pristine space, a canvas to impress
With hopes and dreams that surely now will last,
A future built beyond distant distress.

Though memories dear, our hearts will now process
A fresh beginning, shadows now are cast,
The empty rooms await a warm caress,

This clean slate whispers, needing to express
The love and life, a bond that will hold fast,
A future built beyond distant distress.

We step inside, our feelings in progress,
Leaving behind what time could not outlast,
The empty rooms await a warm caress,
A future built beyond distant distress.
