Encounter Poem by Paul Warren

Encounter

Encounter

Did I catch your eye
As you walked by
With a wriggle of your hips
In time with the music as it dips

A smile and a wink at me
Set my heart free
I gathered my courage to talk to you
As the music played on through

Those first words were searching
To say something that was enduring
Opened my world to you
And for a time to follow through

This time we spent together
And the ups and downs we would weather
For love to build as one
Our time had begun.
