End Of Electricity Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

End Of Electricity

Rating: 5.0

Civilization hangs perilously upon threads of electricity
Providing power, light, driving machines, satisfying needs.
Should electricity cease with no means for regeneration
Countries will plunge into darkness, machines cease working
Engines have no spark to run, food not being transported.
Trains, buses, no longer running, tractors stopping
Farmers unable to plough and sow with no more crops.
People starving, gangs prowling to steal food
Evil lurking in the shadows preying upon the weak
Police unable to secure the streets with madness reigning.
Without electric power Mankind will return to Stone Age
Where brute strength is authority and the darkness feared
Food hunted with spear, bow and arrows, the strong victorious
People dressed in animal skins, fighting and gathering slaves.
