Ending Pain Poem by Tracey Owens

Ending Pain

Rating: 5.0

As I walked down the street,
I couldn't help but feel lost.
The pain was there and no
where to express it.
I was lost in a world
That wouldn't understand
my pain that was inside me.
I fought it each day
And I knew I would soon
surrender to the pain.
I would surrender to the
Dark side that I was
consumed by.
I couldn't continue
This way, or I knew
Soon that I would be dead.
Death was an option
To end my suffering.
I continued walking
Until I couldn't walk anymore.
I took a seat in the grass and
put my face between my knees.
Soon I felt a tap on my shoulder.
I lifted my head and saw a small child.
She told me everything would
be okay and she hugged me.
I knew the child was right,
Everything will be okay.
