Ending Too Soon Poem by Gary James Smith

Ending Too Soon

Rating: 5.0

What emotions can come
After the passing of a loved one
Who had such a future in view
When death came as a surprise
And brought tears to our eyes
For a life that was ended too soon

Too soon came the echo
Too soon came the reply
It wouldn't erase from the mind
And memories well up
Of the loved one's short life
In total consumption we find

Only God knows the reason
Of some life's short season
While we're in the wondering why?
And grace for our grieving
Praise God we're receiving
Until our meeting in Heaven on high

The pictures and stories
What an emotional ride
As they capture the life of someone
And we weigh in our minds
Of the happier times
But now it had ended too soon!
