Enigma of stocks
Gives me shocks
The one that I sold
Is now worth tons of gold
Sir, it was a silly mistake
My broker told
The one that I bought
Is worth a naught
In a vicious circle
Now that I am caught
The broker's remark
Land on me, as a punch...
Sir, it was your hunch....
I wish I were smart
And learnt this art
Of buying gold and
Keeping good stocks on hold...
And of selling short
All those worthless naughts..
The moment's spur
Did me in;
Bought this one
Referred by a kin...
The greed ruled
When fear ought to have
Now hopes accompany me
That no money I have....
Now I am a man of fears
Lost all my money
Earned over the years
My kin so happy
Cheerful is my broker too
For me please solve this enigma of stocks
Will you? Will you
Now hopes reside
Deep inside
Travelling from breath 2 breath
The birth of a hope and the
Stocks death...
And you wish there's someone
Who says to you...
Don't worry man
This day shall pass too.
So experience talks! And talk about cycles, Blackman-Scholes, or Markowitz....its a roller-coaster ride there... Cheers. Subroto
Great piece....the broker comment - Sir it was your hunch....says it all and makes the stocks even more enigmatic...I enjoyed this one Nikunj.
wowwwwwwww this poemhunter is wondersssssss cos here i not only met this great poet but also a stock advisor good help me now to be a millionaire fast--
Follow all the rules, Double down; fools. Buy on the downturn - It's enough to make a worm squirm, Or Sell on the rising tide Now there's one hard to abide. But it's easier to watch the stock go up and down. Which is the sport to those who have been around And who sit back, give advice and laugh at those Who actual own stock, and pay through the nose. s
