Joyfully living during times of happiness, filled with
hope, gathering us into an enlightenment of faith.
There we can contemplate and find our way through life's
hardships and grief.
Always having faith in going to heaven, attempting to
stay on a righteous path throughout the years.
Never veering from God, taking steps to follow the Ten
Commandments.
So in the end we may find ourselves on the other side
beyond this very temporary life.
Finally enjoying our spirits in heaven, no more hard-
ships to endure for life is at last ended.
In your poem I counted six hardships overcome, three hopes grasped and one Life Eternal achieved. I may be wrong in the details of my count, but the point is the Christian life you are living is NOT what Mallarme called A ROLL OF THE DICE. It is a journey - a pilgrimage - which a proscribed path and a promised goal - and it is clearly spelled out in your poem for all to see. That's the ENLIGHTENMENT of your title.
