Enough For Me To Handle - Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Enough for me to handle
when I looked into your eyes
and knew that trouble wasn't too far behind
Enough for me to handle
when I begun to realize
you had a secret that would disturb my mind
Enough for me to handle
when you reminded me why
I find comfort in being alone
Everyone these days playing games
as if we're children
trying to make it to the end to win

Just showed you to the door
go ahead on and leave
what you should know
Don't ever come back to me
this decision came with no doubts
go ahead and go
you've got another side
you didn't before know so now please
go, go, go, go...

Enough for me to handle
when I used the strength inside me
to ward off the deceit of your affections
Enough for me to handle
when I realized the path this was
going in and to take a different direction
Enough for me to handle
Until I was reminded that life's a game
and that the next move will be my best
because the game that I was playing
was the one where you had lost and I won in the end

I was this close to saying I love you
until the warning read watch out
when it comes to love i have struggled
don't understand what it's about
but one thing I know about the muscle
is it will heal in time
with dark clouds, skies show trouble
when all is cleared the sun will shine
