Epiphany Of The Senses: A Bacterial Hosanna To Life Poem by Tricia Mae Chua

Epiphany Of The Senses: A Bacterial Hosanna To Life

Out for a run one cool Friday evening
After a rainy spring downpour,
Quiet moment before sunset
The neighbors home for supper.
Warm black asphalt beneath me
Along this tree-speckled street
Still soaking from a heavenly deluge
Of a refreshingly wet treat.
With my running shoes to the ground
I witnessed then a moment of bacterial epiphany,
The air permeated by moist earthy goodness
Enough to start a symphony!
