I realize that nobody's perfect
That's why erasers were invented,
People may not do what we expect
That's why apologies must be accepted.
When we're writing there would be
Some typo errors and wrong spelling-
Lost in translation quite possibly
And some of clarity there missing.
But still I find there's no excuse
When I read through a poem today
Four letter curse words that have no use
But to muddle the substance they say.
Still there are some who abbreviate 'you'
Write just one letter, perhaps too tired,
And cut the 'because' into 'coz', it's true-
Before they are famous, they've been retired!

Ah! I have to agree with you on the abbreviation of words in poems. I feel it should be saved for phone texts and in some cases emails. However I think using cos or cuz is OK if it fits in well with the piece. But you are so correct about the u being used in place of you. This irritates me greatly! I would rather type the extra key strokes and have my poem be splendid as opposed to just OK. It's hard for me to take a piece too seriously when filled with these new shortened words. Nice job with this!
