Eternal Promise Poem by Katherine Kay Graven

Eternal Promise

ETERNAL PROMISE

Gracie's song

When I first held you,
My heart overflowed.
I even counted little fingers and toes,
Smothering you with blessings,

kissing your forehead

Forever

sealing the love of a

grandmother's

Eternal Promise.

Chorus
A tender heart so pure,
Caring, loving, and true,
Innocence of an angel,
A princess through and through.

I'm seeing my little angel
Take her first life steps and grow,
Overflowing my heart with abundant love,
Touching depths within my soul
That only a love like this can go.

Chorus
A tender heart so pure,
Caring, loving, and true,
Innocence of an angel,
A princess through and through.

As the years go by,
I see some of your pain.
But no matter what,
Your tender heart remains,
Filled with compassion
And empathy for all to see
Just how special you are,
Especially to me.

Chorus
A tender heart so pure,
Caring, loving, and true,
Innocence of an angel,
A princess through and through.

Your elegance bears no comparison
To the stars in a clear, dark night sky.
One of poise and grace and beauty,
An angel in disguise.

Never forget you are dearly loved.
My love for you is unconditional,
A love withstanding all lifetimes and beyond,
A love only a Grandmomma can call her own,
Even when you're full grown.

Final Chorus
A tender heart so pure,
Caring, loving, and true,
Innocence of an angel,
A princess through and through.

Smothering you with blessings,
Then kissing your forehead

Forever sealing

the love of a
grandmother's

Eternal Promise.
