Even As The Early Morning Birds Sing Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

Even As The Early Morning Birds Sing

Mornings are surly and cold
Grotesque stories told
Love and hate both in one fold
Of pure hearts that are bold
Despite dwelling in bodies that are old
Still it is required of their unwavering resolve to hold
Even as we watch strange happenings unfold
As perfectly as they were foretold
Awake and watch the day of our redemption to behold
