Evening Stroll Poem by Fiona Davidson

Evening Stroll

As she strolls down the street
A silence falls around her
Not one bird is singing a note
No cars drive past, no-one is walking
She's all alone tonight in the dark
Is that a shadow over by the trees?
Or is it a figure dressed in black
Just about to step out onto the path?
Closer now she sees its just a trick
Light and dark playing on the bark
Nothing more sinister than that
She smiles to herself as she passes
Maybe walking a little faster just in case
