Every Person Is A Piece Of Gold. Poem by Dr. Antony Theodore

Every Person Is A Piece Of Gold.

Rating: 5.0

Every person is a piece of gold.

You are
A gold ring,
A gold watch
A gold chain
And you say:
I am a ring, a watch, a chain.

But don't you understand
These are only temporary shapes?

In truth, you are gold.
It is your essence.
Shape may change
But your essence does not.

Love your descriptions of gold things, and how you transform your poem into a beautiful diatribe of what really matters in this life. All else is just temporary and/or materialistic, not having or adding any value to our souls. Wonderful testimony to our spirits, Tony, they are what make us to be a piece of gold. Truly great poem! 10++++ RoseAnn

I enjoy the structure of your poems- the two centered lines are like a traffic signal slowing the reader, preparing him for a change of course. I enjoy the context of your poetic message- you give your readers pause to think, to ponder. And I enjoy the words and images you use to get our minds focused not on the impermanent things but the eternal truths behind them...... and using a watch- great choice.+++++
