Every Year Poem by Bull Hawking

Every Year

Every year about this time
I come to you bringing rhyme
Though I'm no ancient mariner
maybe an albatross but who's shooting

I bring more brine than rhyme
Do you like watermelon?
Since it is June I thought I would.
it is for your birthday....anyway

Somewhere this birthday poem
Lost its melody
But if you will dance a little jig
Pat your tummy and sing these verses

I'll bet someone will laugh
it might even be you!
I know I meant it to be romantic
but laughter is better than sex....at our age

Of course if you're willing.....hmmmm
