Everything And Nothing (Circe) Poem by Aryaa Gupta

Everything And Nothing (Circe)

In the isle where gods wove their spells
a sorceress, with power that compells
her eyes like fire and a voice like wine
A goddess in her prime, divine.

But power's weight her spirit crushed
desires unquenched, her dreams were hushed
in her solitude her magic waned
A broken heart, a queen unchained.

Her beauty masked a deep despair
a hunger, for a love to share
in her enchantments she was lost
Her deepest wishes, tempest-tossed.

Circe with her feminine grace
her strength, a veil for her soul's chase
for in her spells a truth did dwell
Even goddesses can fall, can quell.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I absolutely adore Greek mythology, and Circe always mystified me. A woman so powerful she caused her own downfall? Yes please! Anyway, I hope I did her justice Poem No.4! (Yes, the poem is about her loneliness and her heartache when she met Odysseus)
