Everything Is Piecemeal Poem by Sadiqullah Khan

Everything Is Piecemeal

Everything is piecemeal, every beauty
Is hidden behind and in some ugliness,
Every piece, neither here nor there
Disconnected, disjointed, by light years
And if, they are together, they can’t hear
Each other breathe, see each other’s dream.
They were once in stories, on tongues
There are no storytellers, and ‘tongues’
Brutally snatched. Alien, without support
Lost, in these alleys, there is nothing more
To preserve. Is there someone to see -?
The pulse of life, a spiritual journey
And defeat the forces of ‘vulgar modernity’
Tasteless, intellectually void and culturally disruptive.
