Evolution Poem by Jesser Weaver

Evolution

Holding you for the first time....
was so priceless.
You were tiny I waited 9months
I was excited.
You were my new born.

I changed your diapers.
I held you til you fell asleep.
Throughout the week
I'd only get 3 hours of sleep.
You were my baby.

Thinking of you makes me weak.
Who would of thought...
Daddy...
Would be the first word you'd speak.
You were my toddler.

I waited with you early mornings...
at the bus stop.
I would cover your ears
whenever I'd hear gun shots.
You were my daughter.

Then you were always....
talking on the phone.
I stayed up late...
waiting for you to come home.
You were my teenager.

Summer time was cool
Swimming inside the pool
Until you had to move away
Because of school...
You were my young adult.

We were on the same team.
But As crazy as it seems
You found the guy of your
Dreams.
You are HIS Wife.

I love you so much.
I can say that times a million.
I hold back happy tears...
When I kiss my grandchildren...
You are THEIR Mother.
