Excuse Me Poem by Leanna Page Markgraf

Excuse Me

The flames are dying out
As this love turns into lust.
I try my hardest not to break down
As you slip away like dust.
You want to be friends
when I loved you so dearly.
You told me sweet lies
that I believed, clearly.
Out of sight out of mind
in my heart you will stay.
I will love you forever
until my final day.
You were my everything
But now I'm holding onto a ghost.
How you made me feel special
Is what I'll miss the most.
I will keep you close,
memories fill my heart.
Why did you break me?
Excuse me as I fall apart.
