Existence, Appearance, Reality And Truth

Existence, appearance, reality and truth

Dr. Varanasi Ramabrahmam

Philosophically, mere existence is not surety or guarantee for the existent to be real and or true.

Example is mirage. Mirage exists but not water as it appears. Reality that, water exists is a myth. Thus mere existence can be appearance, which is virtual and not real.

Similarly the appearance, that, length of scale contracts or time of watch dilates when two frames of reference are in relative motion, where the observer and the observed are not in same frame of reference but in different frames of reference in relative motion, what appears is not real or true.

Thus we have two examples, one from our daily experienced and other from modern science.

Thus existence as appearance need not be real or true.
*****
We accept existence. But mere existence may not be real. And reality too exists in existence. Reality is not bereft of existence. But all existence is or need not be reality.

All reality is transient, only the duration and nature of existence are different. comments.
