Expressions Poem by Dean Meredith

Expressions

Show me your red light baby
I'm ready to go
Show me your red light baby
I'm ready to grow
Will you rechart my suffering?
Or is it all for show?
I noticed you
Looking and listening
My mind said yes and no
Your wild colours
Were glistening
Hell
Who was I to know?
Certain words
Kept me wondering
About clichés
Said and done
A wide gap invited
Something
To fill the void
Within
It could have been us
Pondering
Truth and goodness
And sin
I saw your red light
Glowing
It lured me true
And proud
Gifted me
With feeling
I sighed
Heavy and cold
It touched my secret reasoning
Stroked me low and proud
No fault within the seasoning
Tasted like it could
No doubt amidst the questioning
Like I would and should
Its power over fleeting
For that I thanked the lord
Heavens opened up to me
Down it rained
It poured
