Fable 7 Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Fable 7

In the house of a farmer,
a mongoose was a pet.
Two wall lizards were living,
in two separate closets.
One entered into other's space
to get rid of monotonous life.
Found there an insect tangled in
a spider's web fully alive.
To its goodluck and utmost surprise,
it got a combo dish.
Spared no time to prey upon,
went ahead to hurriedly finish.
The other lizard was watching
this game from behind a furniture.
He came to encounter the other,
asked how he dared to be an
intruder.
Arguments and counter arguments
went on for a while;
A strong one-on-one fight ensued,
both collapsed on the floor tile.
The mongoose was overjoyed
to have the joint meat.
Immediately pounced upon both,
had a sumptuous feast.
When we fight with another,
a third person may be the gainer.
Let us enjoy peaceful co-existence,
avoid situations that call for danger.
