Fading From The Horizon Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Fading From The Horizon

What comfort in life,
Can anyone possibly have.
To awaken each day,
Feeling excited.
Done to await,
To be attracted to distractions.
With more of them coming to be 'had'.

Had by deception.
Had by lies to know them told.
And then to breathe a sigh of relief.
That the truth and its facts,
Are fading away from the horizon.
Along with beliefs,
Everyday by those evil...
Is being negotiated to be sold.
As they sleep.
Before their feet hit the streets.

What comfort in life can anyone have?
To know and witness their quality of life,
Will soon be memories...
Gone as quick,
As their treasured entitlements to get.
To believed them threatened,
By their own fellowmen.
Endorsed blindly to think of them enemies.
While the ones who are their real enemies,
They applaud and cheer.
Giving them standing ovations.

What comfort in life,
Can anyone possibly have.
To welcome such a sadness.
Then be glad to have this madness,
Represent a happiness never before to have had.

What comfort in life is this?
Allowed to have with it wished to get!
