Fairies Dance - Poem by Jeannie Anglin

a dozen fairies dance
on the ground at my feet
they put me in a trance
with the sound of their beat
i want to pluck their wings
and put them with my things
so that i may one day fly
up in the sky so high
i would never walk again
if i had wings on my skin
as they dance merrily about
myself i begin to doubt
is this just a hallucination
of my vivid imagination
an illusion created in my mind
but my mind would never be so kind.
