Fairness Poem by Francois GUIMATSIA

Fairness

Fairness entails conscious objectivity
In assessing contexts and people's abilities;
It means sifting out virtues and shortcomings
Without any bias through personal feelings.

Should we feel elated or rather sorry,
When to avoid mixing the lame and the fit,
The blind and the deaf are in authority
To really command and lead in any country?

Should we feel angry or indifferent,
If certain laws, setting a precedent,
Favor some targeted groups openly,
And frustrate others conspicuously?

To reward the hawk and the dove,
With exactly the same laurels or love,
Amounts to humiliating true fairness
That should hail work and decry idleness.
