Come up here, O dusty feet!
Here is fairy ready to eat.
Here in my retiring room,
Children ,you may dine
On the golden smell of broom
And the shade of pine;
And when you have eaten well,
Fairy stories hear and tell.
Misquoted? ? My memory says the second line should read Here is fairy bread to eat.

I would like to translate this poem
I would think a word has been dropped- - - eating a wee little fairy doesn't seem like a very sweet thing to so! ! ! Fairy bread makes more sense and less mess. Stevenson, I salute you. You are a great writer even after death because so few writers can write for children.
