Faith Poem by Paul Sebastian

Faith

On a mountain cliff, he slipped and fell
Saved by the cliff’s sprouting branch
Dear life he held, with gripping fear-spell
Arms outstretched, the pain surged
In hopeless predicament, he cried out:
(As if, someone there existed)
Help! Help! Somebody help! His shout.
Heavenly clouds suddenly parted
Firm, gentle voice was heard:
Do you trust Me, my precious son?
(Startled, yet intently, listened)
And my saving help, consider done
Yes, yes I do! He pleaded.
Let go your hands! Came the reply
(This cannot be! He doubted)
Frail faith: a Voice he didn’t rely
He paused. (He thought: An Illusory trap!)
Then, shouted all the more louder:
Somebody else, please help!
(The floor: three-feet below the climber!)
