Rating: 5.0

FAITH ‘S TOUCH, FAITH'S WONDER

‘That I might touch the hem of His garment,
Reach down and touch the tassel of blue.'
Breaking the stern Levitical commandment
Which declared her defiled and under a curse
[Leviticus 15, dreaded twenty-fifth verse],
She stooped and touched - and oh the feeling
Of coming out of a grave, of instant healing,
The flow arrested, and resurrection health!

I like your title: the whole story of the poem is compressed in those four words: The afflicted woman touches Jesus's gown which proves her faith in him and immediately the wonder of the miracle of healing occurs. The narrative that makes up the body of your poem is well paced, and I enjoyed reading this very human story. But it's the title that really impresses me in the swiftness of the miracle once faith is affirmed.
