False Presentation Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

False Presentation

every word that would leave your mouth was all a lie
hooked at first until I no longer took the bait
but gradually, you try to no avail
hit with a dose of reality
Felt me slip from within your grasp
Used desperate measures to comfort your pleasures
You Won't hurt me, I won't let you
but see this one thing is true
What I'm not going to let you do
Is what you'll think you will do

Why would you show a false presentation?

So when you said to me, you were loyal
there was sight of smoke, Words would foil
Begun to see what was going on now
and that was something i wasn't going to allow
Thankful that I've answered the call
or I would have tooking the fall
And i'm going to remind myself that everyone that come with games
Doesn't necessarily know what it is they want
And I got standards, anything below average
is not the answer
If i'm looking for success
there is no settling for less
because i'm bringing my best

can't do me right, i'll leave you
if you're not right, i'll leave you
if it ain't right, I'll leave you
I choose to go far in life
so i'm going to do what is right.
