Fear Poem by Zotena Moses

Fear

Rating: 5.0

like a lion in the midst of Hyenas
my heart beat fear
sometimes I am scared
sometimes I am bold as a lion
emptiness fill my heart
I feel overflowing
it holds me like the claws of an eagle.
Tell me my friend:
is it so with you?
the freedom of my soul
seems the slavery of my body
when will I be free?
Tell me my brother:
is it same with you?
sometimes I am scared
my eyes see like the day
he tiptoe after me in darkness
they come to me every night
like shadows and babies
and they ask horrorly;
what's your name?
then I awake, my confidence is lost.
Tell me my man:
will tomorrow be there for me?
