Fear Poem by Justin Baker

Fear

Where are we drifting?
Where are we drifting? !
I don't want to go,
I want to stay here in this point.
Mother, please stop,
I'm not ready to move.
I'm afraid if things change,
i'll soon lose my place.
This place,
right here,
this garden,
you created.
Mother if you wake,
the trees will die,
the flowers will faint.
Your brothers,
your sisters.
Sleep another day.
Don't let them go,
don't let me go.
Sleep mother dear,
halt our progress,
our degeneration.
Our pain, and tears,
our love, and smiles.
Freeze these memories,
for I fear there will be no more,
no more.
Please sleep,
don't wake.
I sit quietly,
and wait.

We all fear the darkness that is the future but we must believe in the light.
