Feeling You Here - Poem by Michael P. McParland
I'm feeling you here my precious dear
and all of your loving warmth is giving me peace,
relaxing me so I may finally get some sleep.
Wrap your arms around me and hold my hand.
Just snuggle up close as we shut our eyes.
I feel you near and it almost gives me tears,
partly in longing but mostly from being so happy
being filled with your love and in spirit feeling
your soft and strong arms wrapped around me.
My heart feels happy at last and will be complete when you're here.
Feeling you here and I give you this big kiss,
let it give you warmth with all the love that it holds.
Taking your hand I grab you and snuggle up tight,
tell you I love you sweet darling please come
here soon and heal the scars of our aching hearts.
We need it sooner than later and from only each other.
Tonight though I feel you here and I feel safe for once
with only the tiniest shreds of fear from the nightmares,
those will go in total when you are here warming
the other side of the bed giving full comfort.
I feel you here tonight though and that's good for now,
just take me and wrap me up in your arms.
I love you sweet darling I'm completely charmed.
