Fictitious Missions Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Fictitious Missions

Social media,
Permits and allows...
Many on fictitious missions,
To fantasize their ambitions...
Of living to pick their own reality.
Whether to create faked websites.
Or pretend in chatrooms,
Using names to claim to be someone else.
Hoping Microsoft, Google or Yahoo...
Finds it worthy to boost and expand,
More attention for their 'sites' to get.
That competes with Facebook.
To advertise more,
The ridiculousness of made up research.
More sensational.
But with less speed if 'Twittered' to Tweet.
Leaving people deceived in seconds.
And kept 'Tethered' to a false belief.
As if forever.
