Field Trip
from "While Passing Through"/Spring
Parked bus. Beside it
kindergarteners in line
all in yellow tees.
One in the middle
is jumping—up, down…
The excitement of school children, going for a trip, so nicely penned.
thank you, akhtar. writing poems like this i realize that painting portraits or scenes with words is a big part of what i like to do. as a young i drew, and my twin brother is a visual artist. -glen

thanks, susan. when i took a day off i happened to catch sight of this when i was passing by the elementary school two blocks down from me. kindergarteners can be so cute anyway, but all of them in yellow tee shirts and the one jumping up and down... glen
