Empty Poem by Selene White

Empty

Empty words and promises
Drip off your tongue like poison
We both know you don't mean a word you say

Not even when you compliment
Not even when you kiss me
Not even when your eyes meet me

Empty words and promises
Drip off my tongue like liquid silver
We both know I don't mean a word I say

Not when I say your just a friend
Not when I lay next to you
Not when I don't love you

I have only myself to blame
I can't fix this mess I am making
I'll play along until you're gone

I'll let the silver turn black
Turn itself into poison
As my own words hurt my heart
