Finding Confidence Poem by Bernice Lopez

At a very young age we are gifted
with the ability to believe in ourselves.
From the time we take our first step
To the time we speak our first word
Unconsciously unaware of our actions
We act with CONFIDENCE.
No matter how many times we stumble
Not one doubt crosses our minds.
So where did that confidence go?
Why as adults do question our ability to do something?
We allow fear, doubt, and unworthy feelings control our minds.
Which then creates a realty of
Unachieved goals
Unfulfilled dreams
Unhappiness
Life without purpose.
Again, where did that confidence go?
I'll tell you where it is!
It's inside of you.
Deep down underneath that fear,
Deep down underneath that doubt,
Deep down underneath those unworthy feelings you created.
It's always been inside of you
You just have to dig it out.
