gentle mermaid
has lost her hope
the boat she was guiding
during a storm has sunk
her heart locket
is broken
a new revelation
comes forward
friendship isn’t working
the love affair is over
the ties that are breaking
are dying to
letting go
for only heartache
comes from hanging on-
be gentle with yourself,
allows you to feel whatever-
let go of your hurts
gather up what remains
ride on in search
of wholeness
for beyond this place
lies new hope
and a fresh start-
it is over.
