Fireball Poem by Ima Ryma

Fireball

While driving home from my job, I
Was anxious to see family.
I saw a spark up in the sky.
It had been a long day for me.
Tuesday night, so the kids and wife
Would have ordered pizza tonight.
They were the best of my good life.
I saw the sky all seem more bright,
Much, much bigger than that first spark.
Maybe a real large meteor
Falling fast in a burning arc.
My nervousness got more and more.

I watched the fireball falling down.
There's nothing left of my hometown.
