First New Born Poem by Dónall Dempsey

First New Born

Rating: 5.0

Cupped
carefully
in the palms
of her hands

her first
new born
so much
mystery
fleshed
into being
still gazing
at the mystery

of where it has
come from
only slowly
becoming aware
of the great
mystery
that is today.

New father here, agreeing completely. Simple, yet touching poem. -chuck

Love 'cupped carefully' just the sound and the feel of the words. Also 'mystery fleshed into being' Loved the fact that today is also a great mystery! The baby is near enough to look back and see and just starting to look this way for the dicky bird! Lovely touching poem. Dee DeeXXX
