First Presidential Debate Poem by Darwin Henry Beuning

First Presidential Debate

High Noon

29 September 2020
Cleveland, Ohio

Ninety minutes
A verbal duel,
No guns drawn

I watched,
From start to stop
At the end only a sigh

Election Day
34 days and counting

I watched the debate on a computer a couple of days after it happened. The moderator was not very good. It was enough to make me want to see every debate before November 3.

Great movie, High Noon. The debate, not so great. More like two schoolboys on the playground calling each other names. A sigh is right. Why can't we have two GOOD candidates to choose from?
