Flapping And Gliding Poem by Mohammad Younus

Flapping And Gliding

Flapping and gliding,
A free bird in air;
Knowing well,
'It is a curse,
To be encased,
Within a cage'.

Viewing in the world below,
Birds behind the iron bars;
All its experiences,
And all of its visions,
Speaking clearly,
On the value of freedom.

The birds in the cages,
Burying their heads,
In their wings,
Cautioning it,
About the risks and dangers,
To the caged birds,
In luring them to seek freedom,
And fly with it,
In the free space.

But it doesn't give a hoot,
To all of their mixed up concerns;
Though it always remains concerned,
About the caged birds
As everything in the cage,
Kills the love for freedom slowly.

The caged birds closing their eyes,
And drooping their wings,
Thinking that they're
In the paradise!
