Flint, Michigan - An Opinion Poem by Darwin Henry Beuning

Flint, Michigan - An Opinion

We take in
Hundreds of thousands
Of Refugees
From so many lands

What about our own refugees
From Flint, Michigan
Who will take them in?
Does not the light
Of 'Sweet Liberty'
Shine on our own?

The citizens
Need to be evacuated
From a city
Where the water spells

Does not the light Of 'Sweet Liberty' Shine on our own? It most certainly ought to!
