Floodplains And Bloodstains Poem by Herbert Nehrlich

Floodplains And Bloodstains

Rating: 2.2

A medieval landscape it is,
the floodplains of Lowere Saxony,
where once gypsies replaced
with deceptive vengeance,
the locals, warriors of a time,
that saw ventures to fields of Catalan.
Blood spilled there to right an injustice,
lush green meadows and fields of brilliance.
Heaven for wildlife, sad reminiscence
for eyes and all hearts who felt history's lies.
It is blood and not water for a beautiful world.
