Fly Your Own Kite Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Fly Your Own Kite

Anytime someone finds a need,
To disrespect and discourage...
Others for who they are.
What they do to endeavor,
In ways to feel better...
About themselves.
This to recognize to identify quick,
Is the doing to stroll into the scene...
A misdeed doing demon.
Prepared to 'needle' with a pin,
To burst that bubble.
Thirsting for trouble!

Yet...
No one confronted like this,
Should take personally...
This kind of negativity,
Expressed to expect accepted.

But know...
The one who does this to another,
Has the problem and needs the cure.
To find and admit,
That which is missed in their life.
They have not found to get.
Without announcing their insecurities.
Hoping this to do,
Will solve their issues to fix them.

Be the one,
Not to stop...
To fly your own kite.
As high as you like.

There will always be someone running around,
Trying to find a way to prevent the wind...
From lifting your kite to a higher height.
Don't allow yourself to be provoked,
By folks...
Looking to block out the Sun to do it done.
Because of a love they have,
To start a storm somewhere.
The darker the sky,
The better they will feel about it!
With time to take from another wasted,
Seeking that attention wishing to get.
Distracting!
