Fear aside, I'll see you through the end
Clutching darkness by her whistful hiss;
Such it means to have a life long friend.
Love's profundity, no clearer trend:
Nothing could be done - our desp'rate tryst.
Fear aside, I'll see you through the end
Of ev'ry failure's desolate portend;
Nails scratch out mem'ries joy would miss:
Such it means to have a life long friend.
Bridges from these thoughts that horrors send:
Hopes dividing tears of death's dry kiss -
Fear aside, I'll see you through the end:
Destiny thought better than ascend
Pyres of forgotten promises.
Such it means to have a life long friend:
Damned, should words of apathy attend
Beauty of mistakes we made remiss.
Fear aside, I'll see you through the end,
Such it means to me, my dearest friend...

I liked this. The refrain gave it an anthemic quality. It would be interesting to hear spoken out load.

I like it. You successfully broke the rigid rhyming mold of repetitions of 1rst and 3rd line but keeping the aba aba going all the while keeping a pretty tight syllable count. On the whole it makes for a pleasant read with a good rythm. Good job! Amicalement votre, R.
