Love's profundity, no clearer trend:
Nothing could be done - our desp'rate tryst.

Of ev'ry failure's desolate portend;
Nails scratch out mem'ries joy would miss:

Bridges from these thoughts that horrors send:
Hopes dividing tears of death's dry kiss -

Destiny thought better than ascend
Pyres of forgotten promises.

Damned, should words of apathy attend
