When I was little,
I was terrified of the dark.
But as I grew older,
I got over the fear.
Or at least that’s what I thought.
I know now,
that I’d learned to deal with it.
That I was never really at peace,
when I was surrounded by darkness.
Until a few months ago,
when I walked into the bathroom,
before I turned on the light,
and I was absolutely calm.
For the first time in my life,
I wasn’t scared of the dark.
