Football And Brexit Poem by Denys E. W. Jones

Football And Brexit

What does the game of football teach?
Smile when you win, and accept defeat.
You should not grumble, bleat, whinge or complain,
Cry "It's not fair, let the match be replayed! "

Farage, Gove, Johnson and Stuart exult.
Cameron steps down, takes in the result.
Online petition demands a re-run.
Someone should point out that what's done is done.

No shortage of Brits who opted for Leave.
You voted Remain? Get over your grief!
Soon we shall bid the EU fond farewell.
Good thing or bad thing? Time only will tell.
