For Eve Poem by David Harris

For Eve

I stood above your grave
and told you how much I loved you.
I was unable to say it during your dying days
because I knew not of your plight,
but here I stand now to say
I miss you and the warmth of your heart
you gave to me so long ago.
To tell you I'll never forget you
no matter what tomorrow brings.
You will be here with me
so long as I may live.
